SharePoint Dashboard has not lost that vision, and has the secure functionality that the portal concept was created to implement. The SharePoint Dashboard Portal is eAuthenticated for the highest level of security. Users are given full or partial access dependent on the role in the "target" system. This is a screen shot of the Forest Service's SharePoint Dashboard Portal. After a user logs in and receives eAuthentication, any further secure system access authorization is handled by Dashboard.
